During the Fall of 2009 it was reported that a company in Greensborough, North Carolina, were reported to have been impoperly discarding of their patient files. The files found in this incident were found to have been 757 patients social security numbers, insurance account numbers, as well as personal health information. The latest reports indicate that the North Carolina Attorney Generals office has a issued a $50,000 fine to PromptMed.
