Credit Applications Found Near Store Dumpster
April 13, 2010- Residents jogging and walking near a local mall were shocked to discover documents containing phone numbers, social security numbers, and copies of drivers’ licenses in and around a dumpster. The documents belonged to The Room Store, located near the mall. Claudette Lewis, a local resident, said, “It just seems to me that would be a golden opportunity for an identity theft.” While The Room Store management chalked the incident up to human error, authorities are investigating, and the incident does violate Maryland state law.
