Bundles of Confidential Medical Records Dumped at Landfill
On June 22, 2009 NBC News 2 WCBD published a shocking story about two individuals while dumping trash in front of a Montgomery, Alabama landfill came upon hundreds of medical records. The medical records were reported to have been from the Radiology Department at a local Baptist Medical Center.
These files were anything but empty, they were said to have contained x-rays, ultrasounds, MRI’s, and doctor’s reports, and also reported “all sensitive patient information.” The investigation of this matter is to be underway as soon as all the information is obtained.
